Introduction

Here are some translations I have done. They are mainly of works by members of the Paris School of political economy. I did my first translation in 1979 of a chapter of Molinari’s book Les Soirées de la rue Saint-Lazare (1849) which I included as an Appendix to my honours thesis in history at Macquarie University. I returned to it again in 2025 when I translated the entire book.

The second translation I did was in 1982 when I was at Stanford of chapter 10 “Les gouvernements de l’avenir” (The Governments of the Future) from Molinari’s book L’évolution politique et la Révolution (1884). Likewise, after a hiatus of 40 years I returned to it again in 2025 when I translated the entire book.

I began translating pieces of Comte and Dunoyer’s works when I was at Cambridge in 1983. I also returned to this in 2025 when I began translating about 40 of their articles written for their journal Le Censeur for an anthology of their writings.

These writers are part of a series of ongoing Special Projects I have been working on on and off for nearly 50 years. (Listed in full above in the menu bar – “Authors / Special Projects”). They are:

  1. The Comte/Dunoyer Project
  2. The Bastiat Project
  3. The Molinari Project

See the following for more information:
