Introduction

In addition to Anthologies and Translations of the works of important classical liberal authors I have edited a number of collections of their works, some in the form of “virtual collections”. These are works which are listed in a sortable table with links to the individual pieces which may be found in separate volumes.

Editor's Note: This page lists the speeches (64) published in the two volume collection of Richard Cobden's Speeches on Questions of Public Policy which was first published in 1870, with a third edition appearing in 1908. Each speech is accompanied by a brief description of its contents. The table is sortable by date, place where it was given, kind, title, and topic. A link to the speech is also provided. [HTML].

Editor's Note: One of my Special Projects is the Molinari Project which consists of putting online the essays and books of Gustave de Molinari (1819-1912) as well as anthologies and translations I have done and essays I have written. This sortable table lists of over 300 items including 44 stand alone books, 8 Introductions or Prefaces he wrote for other books, 3 Journals he edited, 17 Pamphlets which were reprints of journal articles, and 249 Articles he wrote for magazines and journals, with links to the individual items where available. Editor's Note: One of my Special Projects is the Leveller Tracts Project which consists of putting online a collection of tracts, pamphlets, and "Agreements" written by the Levellers, their allies, and critics. This table lists of over 330 items of which to date 185 are online [HTML]. There are also anthologies of the writings of key Leveller thinkers such as John Lilburne (1638-1656) [HTML], Richard Overton (1641-1649) [HTML], and William Walwyn (1600-1681) [HTML].

Editor's Note: After Sumner's death in 1910 Yale University Press published a four volume collection of his essays and talks edited by Albert Galloway Keller between 1913 and 1919. They are listed here in a sortable table with links to the individual essays (115 items) [HTML].

John Trenchard and Thomas Gordon, The Collected Independent Whig (1720-21) (2024).
Editor's Note: John Trenchard (1662-1723) and Thomas Gordon (1691-1750) edited and wrote for two important magazines in the 1720s: The Independent Whig (1720-21) and Cato's Letters (1720-23). Here we have a list of 54 essays from the first magazine in a sortable table format [HTML]. (After Trenchard's death Gordon would add more in 2 additional volumes - see The Collected Independent Whig (1720-1747) in [HTML].)
