Introduction
I am working on several “Special Projects” which have been of particular interest to me over the course of my career. These are:
- The Comte and Dunoyer Project, concerning the lives and work of the French journalists, lawyers, and political economists Charles Comte (1782-1837) and Charles Dunoyer (1786-1862), who were active during the Napoleonic, Restoration, and July Monarchy periods in France
- The Bastiat Project, concerning the life and work of the French political economist and politician Frédéric Bastiat (1801-1850)
- The Molinari Project, concerning the life and work of the Belgian/French political economist Gustave de Molinari (1819-1912)
- The Leveller Project, concerning the lives and work of several key figures, such as John Lilburne (1615-1657), Richard Overton (1599-1664), and William Walwyn (1600-1680), who were part of the Leveller movement in the 1640s in England during the Civil Wars and Revolution
- The Monarchomach Project, concerning a disparate group of opponents of unchecked monarchical power during the late 16th century
I collect, edit, and put online their individual works, I create anthologies of their writings, and translate some of their key texts. I also have written several papers on their lives and works.
